Info for Intermezzo: Works for Violin and Piano by Kreisler, de Falla, Brahms, Godowsky/Heifetz and more

From the kingdom of the castanets to the land behind the rainbow: in their second GENUIN album, too, the Duo Intermezzo – Ralf Mathias Caspers, violin and Tamaki Takeda-Caspers, piano – present a colourful bouquet of musical flowers, a box of choice confectionery in sound. From Manuel de Falla to Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, from Fritz Kreisler winking through a Far Eastern fan to Johannes Brahms in traditional Hungarian boots... alongside well-known showpieces, you will also make some new discoveries. An amusing and emotional tour around the world, on which there is a great deal to discover!

Ralf Mathias Caspers, violin
Tamaki Takeda-Caspers, piano

The Duo Intermezzo places strong emphasis on musical miniatures in their concert programming and on this CD. The name of the duo is taken from the movie Intermezzo because it also tells a story about a pianist and a violinist (also see track 7).

The selections on this CD are taken from three of Duo Intermezzo’s recital programs: “Love’s joy, love’s sorrow,” a musical tour abroad, “Do you like Brahms?” with humorous selections from the composer’s life and “What a show!” (So’n Theater!) with music from film and stage.
