Info for Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 3 — Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker
On his second album for Deutsche Grammophon, blind Japanese star pianist Nobuyuki “Nobu” Tsujii devotes himself to the emotionally powerful soundscapes of Russian Romanticism. Together with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under Domingo Hindoyan, he unleashes the full force of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3, one of the most technically demanding works in the piano repertoire.
Nobu complements the orchestral soundscapes with carefully selected transcriptions for solo piano: highlights from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite and the breathtaking Flight of the Bumblebee sparkle when “Nobu” interprets them with both playful sensitivity and technical perfection.
In 2026, German audiences will finally be able to experience the outstanding Japanese pianist live again – his busy tour schedule will take him to Munich and Düsseldorf, among other cities.
