Info for Games
Five musicians from various pockets of the country, grab their instruments, and gather in the basement of a house in Southern California. Face-to-face, these individuals collectively harnessa vibrant and vital energy into sticky alternative anthems rooted in timeless songcraft, yet magnified through a prism of garage rock, D.I.Y. indie, and psychedelia. Common People churn out of the kind of entrancing, era-agnostic rock you can drift off to on headphones or sing aloudto at your favorite festival. The guitar solos are just as hummable as the hooks are, and the grooves swing with purpose. It’s no wonder they’ve built palpable buzz and attracted the likes of GRAMMY® Award-winning Cage The Elephant co-founder and guitarist Brad Shultz to their corner.
With the help of Cage the Elephant’s co-founder and guitarist Brad Shultz, Common People, a band made up of USC alumni and current students, is making waves in the alternative rock scene.
After releasing a handful of singles since last July and opening for Cage the Elephant’s “Neon Pill” tour, the band is gearing up to hit the road as one of the openers for the North American leg of Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s upcoming tour and Congress The Band’s “Congress in Session” spring tour.
“This feels like our first real year as a touring band,” said Nicky Winegardner, a guitarist and vocalist for the band. “We’re in the phase where we’re just starting out. So, we want to be in front of as many people as possible, and give them as many different opportunities to hear us as we can.”

Common People
Formed in Los Angeles in 2022, the band quickly began writing and performing local shows together. Initial demos caught the attention of Cage The Elephant co-founder and guitarist Brad Shultz, leading to the band signing with his Parallel Vision label in partnership with Big Loud Rock. In 2025, the quintet released a series of singles and joined Cage The Elephant and The Criticals on their respective tours. This year, Common People will continue their touring momentum and join Rainbow Kitten Surprise and The Bends on the road, while also making their festival debut at Innings Festival in February. Their forthcoming debut EP, Games, will be released later this Spring.
