Filippo Arlia
born in ’89, is an Italian pianist, teacher and conductor. He is considered by international critics one of the most brilliant and versatile Italian musicians of his generation. He graduated in piano at the Conservatory “F. Torrefranca” of Vibo Valentia only 17 years with honors, Honors and Honorable Mention under Antonella Barbarossa, thus acquiring the methods and techniques of the piano school of the famous teacher Lethea Cifarelli, Edwin Fischer’s favorite pupil.
He then completed his humanistic education graduating in Law at the “Magna Graecia” University of Catanzaro.
He made his debut as a soloist on the international scene with a European tour dedicated to G. Gershwin, composer to whom his career has remained particularly linked until the collaboration in 2014 with Michel Camilo, considered one of the most important jazz pianists in the world. Since 2008 he has been promoting the “Duettango”, one of the most important Italian chamber ensembles involved in the interpretation of Astor Piazzolla’s literature. In 2015 the “Duettango” debuted in New York, collecting a real “standing ovation” from the American public in the “Weill Recital Hall” (Carnegie Hall). In 2017, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the death of Piazzolla and with the extraordinary participation of Fernando Suarez Paz, Duettango has recorded a record published by Foné Records and distributed in 16 countries worldwide. The album, which immediately had a great critical acclaim on the major newspapers, was presented at the Concerti del Quirinale di Roma live on RAI Radio 3, and was awarded the “Piazzolla Award” and the “Orpheus Award” 2018“.
In 2011, Arlia decided to devote himself to the management and founded the Calabria Philharmonic Orchestra, of which he is still Principal Conductor. At the helm of the Filarmonica he collaborated with some of the best known musicians of our time, such as Sergei Krylov, Yuri Shishkin, Michel Camilo, Sergei Nakariakov and Ilya Grubert.
He has held more than 400 concerts as a soloist and conductor in more than 25 countries in the world and has already conducted orchestras of historical prestige, including the Cluj Orchestra De Tineret, the Cukurova State Symphony Orchestra of Adana, the Philharmonic Orchestra “M Jora “di Bacau, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra of Vladivostok, the Orchestra Città di Ferrara, the New Scarlatti Orchestra of Naples, the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, the Orkestra Akademik Baskent of Ankara, the Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico, the Nuevo Leon University Orchestra of Monterrey, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, the South Czech Philarmonic, the Odessa Philarmonic Orchestra, the Hungarian National Symphony Orchestra, the New England Symphony Orchestra, the Astana Philarmonic Orchestra, the Porto Orquestra do Norte, the Plovdiv State Orchestra, the Lower Silesian Philarmonic. In 2014, in the family residence of S. Rachmaninov in Ivanovka, Arlia played on one of the historic pianos where the great Russian composer wrote and studied some of the greatest pages of his literature.
After the concert, Arlia was nominated Honorary Professor of the State Conservatory “S. Rachmaninov” of Tambov and of the Far Eastern State Academy of Arts in Vladivostok.
In 2015 he inaugurated the Concert Season of the Municipal Theater of Piacenza with the Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra conducting the “Scots” Symphony n. 3 of F. B. Mendelssohn.
In 2016 he made his directorial debut on some of the most prestigious stages in the world: at the Carnegie Hall in New York (Auditorium Isaac Stern / Perelman Stage) with the Symphony no. 8 “Unfinished” by F. Schubert; in Cairo Opera House with the Symphony n. 4 of “P. I. Tchaikovsky “; at the Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid with the Symphony n. 3 “Heroic” of L. v. Beethoven.
In 2018 he was chosen to direct the “Homage to Rossini” in Carnegie Hall, the only event entirely dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the composer in the city of New York. Also on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of Gioacchino Rossini, he directed the “Italian Concert” organized by the Italian Embassy in Brazil with the Symphony Orchestra of the Brasilia National Theater. He has also performed as a pianist and conductor in some of the most important halls of the international music scene such as the Mary Flager Cary Hall in New York, the “Rachmaninov” Hall in Moscow, the University of Auckland, the “Scarlatti” Hall in Naples, the Teatro Nuovo “G. Menotti” in Spoleto, the Teatro dell’Opera of the Casinò di Sanremo.
Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci made his debut with Dimitra Theodosiou in the role of “Santuzza” at the Tjanjin Opera House and at the Harbin Opera House during a tour in China in 2016.
In 2017 he debuted Aida at the Greek Theater of Taormina with Giovanna Casolla in the role of “Amneris”, enjoying an extraordinary success with the public and critics.
Otello made his debut at the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater in Russia. He is frequently invited to the commissions of numerous international competitions such as the “Silvio Bengalli” International Piano Prize of Val Tidone (PC), the “F. Chopin” International Piano Prize in Rome and the “G. Gershwin” International Competition in New York. He has held piano masterclasses for numerous institutions including Valsesia Musica of Varallo Sesia (VC), the State Conservatory “S. Rachmaninov” of Tambov, the Higher Institute of Music of Sousse, the Val Tidone Festival of Piacenza, the Far Eastern State Academy of Arts of Vladivostok.
In 2018 he published a new album dedicated to the “Pictures of an Exhibition” by M. Mussorgski by Warner Music Italy Records.
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Rossini, he recorded the Stabat Mater exclusively for Amadeus Records with the voices of Maria Pia Piscitelli, Sonia Ganassi, Oreste Cosimo and Carlo Colombara.
Since 2014 he has been Director of the Higher Institute of Musical Studies “P. I. Tchaikovsky” of Nocera Terinese (CZ), where he is professor of a principal piano chair and of the orchestral conducting chair.
He is Music Director at the Greek Theater of Taormina for the Mythos Opera Festival.
In 2018 he was in charge of the Artistic Direction of the “R.Leoncavallo” International Festival of Montalto Uffugo (CS).

Cesare Chiacchiaretta
Born in Chieti, Cesare Chiacchiaretta devoted himself to the study of the accordion at a very young age, later taking up the bandoneon. He studied under Claudio Calista at the Music Academy of Pescara, graduating with distinction at the Niccolò Piccinni Conservatory of Bari in 1995. He subsequently perfected his skills under distinguished masters, including Max and Christiane Bonnay, Vladimir Zubitsky and Mogens Ellegaard. Cesare Chiacchiaretta has performed for the most prestigious concert institutions in Italy and abroad both as a soloist and in several chamber music ensembles. In 2005 he made his début at the Great Hall of the St Petersburg Academic Philarmonic. He has been awarded many prizes at important national and international competitions, and in 1993 won the first prize at the Città di Castelfi dardo international competition. In 1991 he was chosen to be the only Italian representative at the annual World Accordion Championships (International Confederation of Accordionists) organised by UNESCO. He is currently an accordion teacher at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma. In 1993 he was invited to represent Italy at the 43rd Accordion World Trophy in Setubal, Portugal. He has collaborated with distinguished musicians and actors in varied repertoire and has been a member of the accordion quartet Accord’Ance since its formation. He has recorded for many radio and television broadcasters in Italy and abroad.
