Sharon Mansur
Pianist, keyboardist, and composer Sharon Mansur brings together the expressive depth of jazz, the raw energy of rock and electronic music, and the vibrant colors of Middle Eastern traditions. Classically trained from a young age, she has spent her musical life moving seamlessly between genres – from metal and funk to world music and electronica.
Sharon’s sound is unmistakably her own: cinematic and meditative at times, explosive and danceable at others – always rooted in deep melody, rhythmic complexity, and a fearless approach that breaks free from Western tonal boundaries. Together with bassist David Michaeli (Shalosh) and drummer Aviv Cohen (Yemen Blues), she formed the Sharon Mansur Trio, whose debut album will be released on ACT in June 2024.
In addition to her trio, Sharon performs under the alias SHASHA – a live electro-oriental project that fuses club energy with instrumental storytelling. With multiple solo albums, international collaborations, and a truly genre-defying voice, Sharon Mansur stands out as one of the most exciting artists of her generation.
