Cristina Gómez Godoy
is one of the most exciting oboists of her generation. At age twenty-one, she joined the Staatskapelle Berlin as solo cor anglais. In 2013, she was appointed principal solo oboist of the orchestra under the baton of Daniel Barenboim. Furthermore, she is since October 2015 an adjunct professor at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK).

Born in 1990 in Linares, Spain, Cristina Gómez Godoy has been widely praised by the international press for her »wonderfully warm, supple tone« (Deutschlandfunk) and her expressive playing. She has appeared as a soloist in other world leading orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Filarmonica della Scala di Milano.

She played under renowned conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta and Andris Nelsons at international venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Pierre Boulez Saal, Konzerthaus Berlin and the prestigious Ravinia Festival in the USA.

Being an avid chamber musician, Cristina Gómez Godoy has collaborated with numerous esteemed artists including Daniel Barenboim, Guy Braunstein, Claire Huangci and the Calidore String Quartet. She received numerous awards such as the ARD Competition in Munich.
