Info for Once We Were Gods
On 'Once We Were Gods', the singer and her guitarist present their very own mixture of pop, contemporary world music, jazz and folk, and this, as they quite rightly put it in their adopted city of Dresden: of world-class quality.
Renowned music consulting agency Hit The Ground Running Inc. from Los Angeles, which provides music for US series CSI: Miami, CSI: New York and Cold Case, fully agreed. At a listening session at Midem 2009 they put “The Sizzling Noise“, a track from Mara & David’s new CD, on the shortlist for the successful US series The Cleaner.
Mara and David met a few years ago at the Academy of Music 'Carl Maria v. Weber' in Dresden. David studied Guitar/Worldmusic there, with Thomas Fellow as his teacher, while Mara is still studying jazz/rock/pop voice in the class of Céline Rudolph.
Since then they started writing songs and playing together, the work is constantly growing more intense. In early 2007 we recorded our debut album 'Sixteen Secrets' (Ozella Music/Songways), which we proudly presented to the world on August 30, the same year.
