He doesn't exactly fit the typical mold of the hit US series *American Idol*. Married with two children, he has his own opinions—which he voices with plenty of humor—and, on top of that, he plays rock music! Yet none of that stopped him from becoming a finalist in 2006. His voice is somewhat reminiscent of Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, though he possesses a certain special something all his own. His music leans toward the styles of Pearl Jam, Live, Fuel, Creed, and Nickelback, so it comes as no surprise that Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, The All-American Rejects) was brought on to produce his debut album. Chris Daughtry, from North Carolina, is not only a powerful vocalist but also a highly skilled guitarist and songwriter (he penned 10 of the 12 tracks). It is easy to see why the *Los Angeles Times* has already hailed Daughtry as the most talented performer in the history of *American Idol*. In short, it is a fantastic rock album!

Alongside DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee, Daughtry has been commissioned to pencil the variant cover for “Batman” #50, as part of the promotion for the upcoming release of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” His prolific philanthropic pursuits raise tens of thousands of dollars annually for the likes of the USO, Make a Wish Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, Musicians on Call and Save The Music Foundation. Chris will also star as the disciple Judas in the upcoming FOX Live Television Event “The Passion” on Sunday, March 20th.
