Info for The Rage to Survive
Danny Bryant, one of the UK's leading and celebrated blues artists, is presents his twelfth album 'The Rage To Survive' on on Jazzhaus Records. Following on from the critically acclaimed 2019 record 'Means Of Escape', this is one of his most heartfelt and powerful records yet.
As per ''Means Of Escape'', Danny once again wrote and produced the record himself creating a journey displaying Danny's full range as both a guitar player and songwriter. Moving from uncompromising thunderous blues tracks through to more tender downbeat tracks, ''The Rage To Survive'' is Danny pouring raw emotion into the record.
Packed with his now notorious and celebrated signature guitar playing, the opening and title track ''The Rage To Survive'', kicks in immediately with his gruff vocal which sets the tone for the album perfectly before moving into the more tender "Trouble With Love'' and then ''Invisible Me'' before building back into ''Rescue Me''.
"Falling Tears'', a stripped back track with a more classic rock tilt gives the album a poignant middle point and builds back into ''Make Me Pay'', a more traditional blues track flowing perfectly into the gentler ''Rain Stops Play'' before hitting the brass ensemble for the instrumental ''Looking Good'' demonstrating Danny's playing at it absolute best. The album wraps as it began with the hard rolling ''Till The Bottle Run Dry'' into the ballad ''Westport''. This is an album that takes the listener on a journey of emotion that seeps through every track.

one of the UK’s leading and celebrated blues artists, is releasing his twelfth album ‘The Rage To Survive’ on 29 October through Jazzhaus Records. Following on from the critically acclaimed 2019 record ‘Means Of Escape’, this is one of his most heartfelt and powerful records yet.
As per ‘Means Of Escape’, Danny once again wrote and produced the record himself, working alongside Grammy Award winning Ian Dowling (Adele, KT Tunstall) who recorded, engineered and mixed the record. Moving from uncompromising thunderous blues tracks through to more tender emotional tracks, ‘The Rage To Survive’ is Danny pouring raw emotion into the record which took just four days to record!
Riding high on the European blues scene for over a decade, yet still only 32, Danny has carved a name for himself the old-fashioned way having played over 2000 club and festival shows to his many fans around the world.
Danny was born in Hertfordshire England in July 1980. First hailed as a ‘young guitar prodigy’ he began playing guitar aged 15, turning professional just three years later, and in the last decade has paid his dues clocking up endless miles of traveling and approximately two thousand shows in many countries around the world. After a decade of hard toil he now gets the recognition he so well deserves, being acknowledged by those in the business as one of the cream of the crop of this generation of blues artists, ably backed by his rhythm section of his father Ken on bass and Trevor Barr on drums.
In a career already littered with highlights including many sold out club tours across Europe and numerous major festival appearances that have seen the power trio perform on the same bill as such names as Joe Cocker, Carlos Santana, Buddy Guy and Peter Green to mention a few; Danny and his band have steadily carved a huge and loyal fan base around the world.
So far the band have released eight internationally acclaimed CDs, in 2007 they signed with Rounder Records and released three highly successful albums with this Label all of which topped the iTunes and Amazon blues charts in several countries. In 2009 Danny signed a licensing deal with Virgin/EMI Asia and a track from their 2007 release, ‘Live’, was included on a compilation CD entitled ”The Best Blues Album In The World Ever”. Danny was featured alongside many giants of Blues, including Johnny Winter, Gary Moore, Albert Collins and ZZ Top.
February 2010 saw the release of the bands critically acclaimed studio album “Just As I Am’, hitting Blues charts all across the continent and receiving glowing reviews from the international music press. The album caught the ear of German based label Jazzhaus records leading Danny to ink a deal with the dynamic new label.
The highly anticipated live DVD/CD “Night Life” was released in March 2012. Recorded in The Netherlands it captures the band doing what they do best, “Bryant has the kind of magic fingers that ensure the long solo sections on this live disc keep you teetering on the edge of your seat… Thrilling.” (Classic Rock Mag).
Following the success of “Night Life” has lead Danny to sign a further two album deal with Jazzhaus Records and 2013 will see the release of the bands 7th studio album ‘Hurricane’ in spring 2013.
