Info for Sehnsucht (Anniversary Edition - Remastered)
The 1997 Rammstein album Sehnsucht is re-released as a limited Anniversary Edition for the first time in remastered HiRes. The album exclusively includes a new mix version of the track "Spiel mit mir."
Cited as the biggest band in Germany, Rammstein are now poised to make their presence known in the U.S. with more than 1,000,000 copies of their first 2 albums sold in Germany, Rammstein have constructed a signature sound defined by driving guitars and captivating imagery, led by the "gentle ferocity" of lead vocalist Till Lindeman. Certified platinum in Germany and climbing the European charts, Sehnsucht will be serviced to multiple U.S. outlets including college, metal and modern rock formats.
"Rammstein's second album, Sehnsucht, finds the German prog metal band making a great leap forward. While the group still sounds a little unfocused in places, their blend of industrial noise, grinding metal guitars, and operatic vocals is staggeringly powerful. No other European metal band sounds like Rammstein, nor does any American metal group -- this is powerful, gothic metal that is unlike anything else in late-'90s metal. Sehnsucht may be an acquired taste, but it's one worth acquiring." (Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide)
