Info for GAIA 2024

Music is a global language. It connects people across generations. With music we touch people. And we move them with our actions: for sustainability. Equality and high-quality education, climate and environmental protection, peace and justice.

PEOPLE! Yes, you! You are the focus of our new festival edition! With you we travel to Central Europe, accompany people who had to leave their homeland, touch on human rights, flee to the USA, take part in differences, go on a world tour, accompany minorities, cross Bonn, marry suffering and passion, deepen love and the desire to have children, discover great legacies, find beauty behind bars and reconcile ourselves with the past. We do it with great artists from all over the world, musically and literary.

For health, well-being and sustainable cooperation.

Since our first festival in 2006, GAIA has promoted a collegial environment with flat hierarchies. We don't talk about each other, but with each other. Musicians meet a few days before the first concert to work together, rehearse and network. We promote and demand gender equality and the self-determination of all participants, regardless of age, gender, disability, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic status.

The time we spend together is fun, productive and promotes understanding and empathy - a strong cornerstone for functioning societies. Only regional and organically produced products are used for the meals of the musicians, employees and volunteers.
