Swing, groove, energy and years of experience: these are the attributes that characterise the perfectly coordinated Jerry Lu Trio. For over ten years, the trio has been joined by two other outstanding musicians from the German jazz scene: Stefan Rey (*1989) on double bass and Niklas Walter (*1990) on drums. Excellence and quality are the basis for their own musical style. All the musicians in the ensemble are young professionals who have already completed their jazz studies in Essen and Cologne. The sound of the Jerry Lu Trio moves stylistically between swinging and modern mainstream and also carries on the fire of the jazz tradition with modern influences. The programme consists of well-known jazz standards enriched with their own compositions - a very attractive mixture of bouncing feet and beaming faces for the audience. The virtuoso music and touching ballads of the Jerry Lu Trio cast a spell over the audience every time. The trio is often joined by one or more prominent guest soloists, e.g. musicians from the WDR Big Band (including Paul Heller, Andy Haderer, Ruud Breuls, Andy Hunter, Johan Hörlen).
