Info for Strauss: Piano Quartet, Op. 13 - Metamorphosen for String Septet (Live)

Combining the alpha and the omega of Richard Strauss's music, Trio Arnold,Nathanael Gouin and their partners from the budding French chamber music scene invite us on a journey as astonishing as it is sublime to the end of German Romanticism, from the radiant energy of the Piano and String Quartet to the twilight elegance of Metamorphosen.

Trio Arnold:
Shuichi Okada, violin
Manuel Vioque-Judde, viola
Bumjun Kim, cello

Trio Arnold
“Founded in 2018 between Berlin and Paris, the Trio Arnold is a rare and surprising phenomenon on the European musical scene.

Its three versatile musicians, Shuichi Okada (violin), Manuel Vioque-Judde (viola) and Bumjun Kim (cello), all prizewinners at leading international competitions, met at the Seiji Ozawa International Academy Switzerland, where they received guidance from Pamela Frank, Nobuko Imai and Sadao Harada.

Each of the trio’s members is regularly invited to play as both soloist and chamber musician in the world’s foremost concert halls, among them the Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Théâtre des Champs- Éysées, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Salle Pleyel, the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Liège Philharmonie, BOZAR in Brussels, Schloss Elmau, the Harmony Hall in Matsumoto and the Seiji Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood.

Greatly influenced by a decade at the prestigious International Academy founded by the great Japanese conductor, the Trio Arnold is distinguished by its constant quest for a sound of great homogeneity of the kind usually found only in string quartets, and an overall character of great expressive strength. The trio has already been heard on France Musique and filmed live for Arte Concert.

The Trio Arnold is in residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac in Paris and the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo (Belgium).”
