With "Memory Bomb", pianist, producer, and Grammy Award winner Kiefer releases his first solo album on Blue Note Records. Following the recent release of "FATHERS", his collaborative project with Nate Smith, CARRTOONS, and Kenny Beats, the California-based musician now presents a deeply personal work that seamlessly blends jazz, hip-hop, soul, and electronic music. Featuring guest appearances by Walter Smith III, Amber Navran, Planet Giza, and Erick the Architect, Memory Bomb showcases Kiefer's atmospheric, groove-driven sound, bringing together the freedom of jazz improvisation and contemporary beat culture in a truly distinctive way.

Perhaps this is precisely why “Memory Bomb” is such a remarkable Blue Note album: Kiefer does not try to sound like a Blue Note artist from a bygone era. His connection to the jazz tradition lies in his harmonic thinking, his improvisation and his collaboration with musicians such as Nate Smith and Walter Smith III. However, his contemporary sound is just as strongly influenced by J Dilla, hip-hop, beatmaking and the experimental scene in Los Angeles.

Kiefer is an American pianist, producer, and composer whose music bridges modern jazz, hip-hop production, and expressive solo piano traditions. His work has earned the rare distinction of being signed to both Stones Throw Records and Blue Note Records, two of the most influential labels in hip-hop and jazz, signaling his legitimacy and impact in both scenes. A Grammy Award–winning producer for his contributions to Malibu by Anderson .Paak, he has collaborated with artists including Dr. Dre, Kaytranada, De La Soul, Pete Rock, Terrace Martin, Kenny Beats, Walter Smith III, and Nate Smith. Drawing from influences ranging from Herbie Hancock to Los Angeles beat-makers like Madlib, Kiefer’s music balances technical sophistication with emotional immediacy, pairing lush harmony with minimalist, hypnotic grooves.
