Info for Mozart: Piano Trios

The 6 Piano Trios of W. A. Mozart, which were composed in the years 1776, 1786 and 1788, already show the increasing emancipation of the string instruments - while in the first work (1776) the keyboard instrument still predominates, and the two strings take on a more accompanying role, even though in some cases a distinctive one, the relationship between the instruments developed in the five works of the 1780s lead to an approximate equality. The peculiarity of this new recording is that for the first time the autographs, some of which have only recently become available, have been taken into account, which has brought about some changes compared to the previously printed sheet music editions, especially in the area of phrasing and articulation, and thus, the Vienna Mozart-Trio presents an authentic complete recording for the first time with this double album-set.

"An impeccable, never boring production that inspires for long stretches." (klassik-heute.de)

Wiener Mozart-Trio

Wiener Mozart-Trio
Since its foundation in 1991, the Trio has performed in renowned concert halls of Europe and Asia such as the Sala Verdi in Milan, the Wigmore Hall in London, the Musees Royaux des Beaux Arts de Belgique in Brussels, the Auditorio Centro Cultural Conde Duque in Madrid, the Auditorio Winterthur in Barcelona, the Concertgebouw Rotterdam, the Concert Hall of the Royal Dublin Society, the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris, the Beijing Concert Hall, the Shanghai Concert Hall, the Viennese Konzerthaus and others.

The ensemble has taken part in countless music festivals, for example Madeira Festival, Festival do Estoril, Festival Albacete, Festival nel Parco (Rom), Festival Iglesias, Estate Musicale di Alghero, Sibenik Festival, Lausitzer Musiksommer, Langenargener Sommerkonzerte, Corveyer Musikwochen, Musiksommer Obermain, Vendsyssel Festival, Klangbogen Wien, Kilkenny Festival, Festival of Chamber Music at the RDS (Dublin), Jakarta Festival, Thailand Festival, Maggio della Musica di Napoli, Settimane Musicali di Grado, Schubertíada Barcelona, King's Lynn Festival, Festival de Musique en Bourbonnais, Les Musicales du Golfe, North Wales Music Festival and others.

Nowadays the Vienna Mozart-Trio is one of a small group of ensembles known in virtually all the important music centres.

Irina, Daniel and Diethard Auner are not bound by any contracts with orchestras. Their artistic independence enables them to achieve a musically free and unconventional interpretation of utmost intensity.

The musicians consider it as their vocation to convey music as a spontaneous and original experience. As a result, they have made a wide audience familiar with all epochs and styles and all the possibilities of musical expression, ranging from the great Viennese classics - with W.A. Mozart as one of the earliest composers of the musical genre of the piano trio - to the present day.

Since 2012, the Vienna Mozart Trio has been organizing and directing its own international music festival at Schloss Hunyadi on the southern city limit of Vienna. Renowned musicians and ensembles make guest appearances there each year: the Sommerkonzerte Wienerwald.

Since July 2017, Daniel Auner has been playing a violin from Giovanni Battista Guadagnini named “Elia” which the Österreichische Nationalbank presented to him as a special award.
