Info for Shostakovich, Weinberg: 3 Piano Trios
Fusions. The fusion of an ensemble made up of three members of the same family, the Trio Mestral. The fusion of related styles, those of Shostakovich and Weinberg. Each work is charged with extraordinary tensions, painful and exalted, darkly humorous and deceptively naive. Three trios in the form of confessions. Three
masterpieces, too, interpreted with the ardour of young artists in full possession of their technical resources, who tell us each time of history in the making.

Trio Metral
Playing together has been an integral part of the Metral siblings’ musical life, one they have engaged with passionately, seeking to discern the broadest palette of meaning and feeling, one that is always firmly rooted in musical context.
The three musicians obtained their Master’s degrees from the renowned Paris Conservatoire, and have been nourished by their participation in the European Chamber Music Academy (Hatto Bayerle, Johannes Meissl, Ferenc Rados...), and masterclasses with the Ebène Quartet, Ysaÿe Quartet and Trio Wanderer. They are currently in residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth with the Artemis Quartet as well as at ProQuartet where they work with Heime Muller, Gary Hoffman, and Krzysztof Chorzelski. They are also resident artists at the Singer-Polignac Foundation.
They are currently under the supervision of Michel Dalberto for the doctorate diploma they follow in the conservatory in Paris.
The Metral Trio has been distinguished in numerous international competitions, notably the 2017 International Haydn Competition in Vienna, where they were awarded First Prize, the Audience Prize, and Prize for the best interpretation of a Haydn Trio. They are laureates of the Banque Populaire Foundation and since 2018, are supported by the Or du Rhin Foundation.
The Trio performs across France and Europe, from the famed Philharmonie in Paris to the Royal Albert Hall of London, passing by the Konzerthaus and Musikverein in Vienna. They are invited by famous festivals like "Radio France Montpellier" or "la Roque d’Anthéron".
They benefited from the teachings of great masters such as M. Pressler, R. Capuçon, C. Desert , A. Kouyoumdjian...
Their first record with the label Aparté is dedicated to the complete trio of Mendelssohn.
