Info for SOLAR STEREO

Three years ago, we discovered Dajak's singular talent with his debut album, Les Larmes du Soleil (Tears of the Sun). The Melun-born artist, who has collaborated with Aupinard among others, has managed to blur the lines between genres, creating a musical style that is both intoxicating and breathtaking, a style that continues to reach new heights with its successor, Solar Stereo.

Here come twelve new tracks where Dajak brilliantly blends indie folk, dream-pop, ambient, and hip-hop phrasing for maximum sonic impact. Solar Stereo opens with the hazy, desert-like "Vers le soleil, tu cours" (Towards the Sun, You Run), which is enough to transport us to distant lands, while our protagonist delivers his internal battles from beginning to end with "Cimetière d'éléphants" (Elephant Cemetery) and "Hâte de vivre" (Eager to Live) that follow.

It is by combining a rawer, more organic production that Dajak succeeds in expressing his melancholy and nonconformity. Our protagonist battles his neuroses, which still haunt him today, particularly when they are magnificently expressed on tracks like "RER D," "Soleil d'hiver," and even "Normandy Beach," before soaring to new heights with other contemplative and hypnotic pieces such as "Les tournesols" and "La boucle," a spacey conclusion with reverbs worthy of Black Angels. There's no doubt that Solar Stereo will shake us up at the start of this year, proof that Dajak will leave no one indifferent.
