Discover the captivating musical universe of David ‘Yacouba’ Jacob, Trust's emblematic bassist since 1996. This versatile and passionate musician has explored diverse horizons, from world music to blues and jazz, collaborating with talents such as Geoffrey Oryema, Ilène Barnes and Ladell McLin. In 2018, the double bass conquered him, taking him to the frontiers of classical, contemporary and jazz.
Born in 1966 to a father from Martinique and a mother from Normandy, David JACOB began playing the trumpet at the age of 8 at the conservatoire in Le Havre A few years later, he continued his musical studies in Rouen, before joining the French Navy at the age of 17, where he worked as a radiotelegraphist and bugler. In 1987, back in Normandy, he started to teach himself the bass and soon afterwards joined a dance band, but also played in various rock and rai groups and started playing jazz with musicians such as Mourad BENHAMMOU, Frederic SCHMIDELY, Marc GERMAIN, Pierre TOUQUET and other regional performers.
