Breakin' Outta Hell is the fourth studio album by Australian rock band Airbourne. This is the band's last studio album to feature its longtime rhythm guitarist David Roads, who left the band in 2017 to focus on his family business. He is replaced by an ex-Palace of the King guitarist Matt "Harri" Harrison.
Speaking about the new album title, Joel said: "'Breakin' outta hell,' it's for everybody that's having a hard time, or even if you've just had a hard week at work, or at university studying, trying to learn economics or stuff that you don't know what the fuck is going on, and you're, like, 'I just wanna rock.' Anyone who's having a bit of a shit day, we've got a saying, it's called, 'World off, music on.' So that's what it's about. Breakin' outta hell, and rock and roll is your one-way ticket out."
The album is produced by Bob Marlette and engineered and mixed by Mike Fraser. This 11-track release sees the Australian band driving their party-startin’ prowess to even greater heights, supported by European run with global heavy-hitters Volbeat, along with a headline tour of North America with 11 Canadian dates. is a hard rock band hailing from Warrnambool in regional Victoria, Australia. Formed in 2003 by brothers Joel and Ryan O’Keeffe, the band has carved out a distinctive niche in the rock music scene with their high-energy performances and no-nonsense rock ‘n’ roll sound. The line-up is rounded out by Justin Street on bass and backing vocals, and Jarrad Morrice on rhythm guitar.
2007 saw band punch into the scene with the debut album, Runnin’ Wild, having been certified Silver in the UK, and charted in the top 30 of the ARIA Albums charts, appeared on the US Billboard 200; UK, France, Austria, and Switzerland Albums chart. Their second album, No Guts. No Glory. came out in March 2010 and reached top 20 in Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Finland, Greece, Sweden, and Switzerland, as well as going in at #31 in the UK and Top 100 of the US Billboard 200. Continuing their legendary impact, the third studio album, Black Dog Barking (2013) and peaked at #17 in Australia and came in top 20 in Austria, Finland, Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, and Switzerland, as well as top 100 in the UK, Spain, Norway, and France. In October 2016, Airbourne released their fourth album, Breakin’ Outta Hell, which peaked top 5 in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland; #9 in the UK; and top 20 in Australia.
With a solid rockin’ catalogue of albums, Airbourne solidified their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the rock world, earning them commercial success with a critical acclaim nomination for “Album of the Year” at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards.
