Info for Irish Roots

A melodic voice singing longing notes about the beauty of Ireland or the pub classic that won't let your legs stand still - this is Ireland as it lives and breathes! Irish music has a long history, although it has only enjoyed worldwide popularity in the last hundred years. Daniel Hope and his AIR Ensemble, consisting of internationally renowned musicians with whom he has already toured the world with AIR - A Baroque Journey, are now embarking on a journey into the rich musical world of Ireland and exploring the myths and legends of the island and its music. For Daniel Hope, this musical journey is closely linked to his family history: His great-grandfather Daniel McKenna set off from Ireland over 100 years ago to make his fortune in the world. For Hope, who still has an Irish passport as well as a German one, this musical journey of discovery is also a journey to himself.
