Info for iris electrum
From the dark and quiet, Viennese composer Johannes Wakolbinger dared to reach for the stars. iris electrum enters the stage.
Together with his 12-piece ensemble, producer Sixtus Preiss and singer Mira Lu Kovacs, he reached the end of a long journey, two years of studio work, where collectively, they searched for and found what came to define their music: the most profound, comforting, touching and meaningful, that is life.
The new album is the conclusion of an extensive creative process, reflected in the stories told in iris electrum's music. Articulated through a rich diversity of sound and form, their stories are hymns of patience and openness, cautioning for delicate vigilance, consequence and vision, trusting, daring and experimenting. Orchestral intricacy and nuance embody a complex reality, indeed life itself from dramatic grandeur to subtle modesty.
Adventurous and encouraging, they defy any stylistic categorisation moving effortlessly through genres, celebrating diversity and curiosity.
