Info for Beethoven: Concerto per violino e orchestra in re magg. Op.61
There could not be any greater challenge for a violinist than to master Johann Sebastian Bach’s sonatas and partitas for violin solo. Unequalled until today, they mean either a stumbling block or the violinist’s Olympus, depending on the interpreter’s skills. But it is not only the enormous technical difficulties that make Bach’s solo works a challenge par excellence. Of course, you also have to master the countless double stops, runs, arpeggios and chords. But it is the interpretation to be the greatest challenge… (Extracted from booklet note) by Ann Kathrin Bronner.
