The Ohrwärmer duo has dedicated its first album entirely to the topic of "songs" and has put together a selection of its favorite works from recent years.

The compilation of the album was inspired by the combination of the warm sound of the alto flute, which is closest to the human voice, with the rich colors of the guitar.

The pieces by the predominantly contemporary South and North American composers do not require any words. They convey emotions through the diverse sound language of the instruments and create small sound jewels that create an atmosphere of inner peace, thoughtfulness and joie de vivre.

Sascha Rathey
Since 2009, Sascha Rathey has been working as a piccolo player/2nd flute at the Tyrolean State Theater Innsbruck and Symphony Orchestra (from the 2021/22 season in the position of deputy solo flute with piccolo), after playing for a year at the Karajan Foundation Academy with the Berlin Philharmonic, under well-known conductors such as Sir S. Rattle, C. Thielemann, D. Zinman and K. Petrenko.

As a music educator, she also headed the concert education program “Young TSOI” at the State Theater from 2010 to 2016, where she also conceived, conducted and moderated concerts and workshops. Her current field of responsibility in the field of music education includes leading the "Cuddle Concert" series for families with their 0-2 year olds in the House of Music Innsbruck and in Kufstein, as well as leading and designing the school workshop in cooperation with the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck and Amnesty International Austria on the topic of "Human Rights & Music".

In 2023 she received a work scholarship from the state of Tyrol and has since then also been a freelance presenter, flutist and actress in various children's concerts.

In addition, since 2013 she has been devoted to a lively chamber music concert activity with guitarist Daniel Müller (Duo Ohrwärmer) and is co-founder of the Innsbruck Woodwind Quintet.

Between 2021-23 she worked as a lecturer for mental training at the Tyrolean State Conservatory.

Since the winter semester of 2023, she has held a teaching position at the Mozarteum Innsbruck for flute, subject didactics and teaching practice (maternity leave).

She combines her pedagogical work in a holistic offering with the "Innsbruck Masterclasses" she founded.

She is currently exploring her passion for being on stage and interacting with the audience as a hobby in the "Clownery" course run by the Tyrol Theater Association.

Born in New Zealand and raised in southern Germany, she studied with Prof. Jean-Claude Gérard and Prof. Davide Formisano at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, as well as with Prof. Hansgeorg Schmeiser at the University of Music Vienna.

Concert tours with various orchestras and ensembles have taken her to China, South America and Europe.

She has played in several projects at the Junge Oper Stuttgart, temporary projects at the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart (H. Rilling) and the Stuttgart Philharmonic, a project with the Webern Sinfonietta Wien in the Musikverein Wien (P. Boulez) and was a member of the festival ensemble of the Bachakademie Stuttgart in 2006, as well as a member of the Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra in 2007.

Daniel Müller
The Austrian guitarist Daniel Müller was already a multiple first prize winner in national and international competitions in his youth and a sought-after concert musician.

At the age of 14 he made his debut as a soloist with an orchestra, and since then his concert activities have taken him to various countries in Europe and to Argentina.

In addition to invitations to solo recitals and chamber music evenings in renowned concert halls such as the Vienna Musikverein and the Vienna Konzerthaus, as well as at various international festivals, Daniel Müller has performed several times as a soloist with various well-known orchestras.

(Filarmonica de Stat Satu Mare, Filarmonica Brasov, Filarmonica de Stat Sibiu, Kapella Istropolitana Pressburg, Webern Sinfonietta Vienna and others).

As a chamber musician, he played projects with musicians such as Lieke te Winkel, Klaus Gesing, Isabell Münsch, Bernd Klug, Anna Tausch and the Hungarian guitarist Zsofia Boros.

Daniel Müller received his artistic training at the Tyrolean State Conservatory with Dr. Stefan Hackl and at the University of Music and Performing Music Vienna with Prof. Alvaro Pierri. In 2006 he received his concert diploma with distinction.

Daniel Müller has been awarded several scholarships (Sobotka Janeczek, Dr. Robert and Lina Thyll-Dürr, Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now).

In addition to his concert activities, Daniel Müller was assistant to Prof. Alvaro Pierri at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna from 2009 to 2012, taught at the Erlangen Music Institute from 2007 to 2013 and has been professor of guitar at the Tyrol State Conservatory since 2012.

Daniel Müller is a regular juror at the Austrian Youth Music Competition Prima la Musica and has been intensively involved in promoting talent in recent years.
