Info for An Echo Of Love

Kerala Dust’s magnificent new album, "An Echo Of Love", is an object lesson in never standing still.

"An Echo of Love", is a dynamic blend of art rock, electronica, and Americana, reflecting constant change and musical experimentation. The album’s fluidity is mirrored in both its shifting lineup - adding keyboardist Tim Gardner and drummer Pascal Karier - and its diverse recording locations, including Tuscany, Austin, Berlin, Zurich, and Rome. Lead member Edmund Kenny describes the album as capturing a state of mind, shaped by his personal experiences, especially after a tumultuous period following the band’s 2023 tour.

The album showcases a more intimate approach to songwriting, with tracks like "How The Light Gets In" embodying vulnerability and directness in both lyrics and sound. The band blends cerebral and visceral elements, combining techno, Krautrock, and punk influences while staying true to their unique identity. Rather than focusing on a specific genre, the album reflects the band's evolving sound world, questioning if the music feels authentic to their essence.

Themes of love and romance are central, explored through tracks that range from nostalgic to dramatic. Despite the emotional weight of the lyrics, the band’s chemistry is stronger than ever, and their joy in both touring and studio work is palpable. The album marks a significant point in Kerala Dust’s journey, suggesting that their transformative path is just beginning.

Kerala Dust

Kerala Dust
was formed in London in 2016. Raised on the sounds of CAN, The Velvet Underground and Tom Waits while spending their time in nightclubs, they now combine these diverse influences of psychedelic rock, blues and techno into their music. "Late night driving sounds; or maybe you're on a street somewhere in the western hemisphere and a shiny new car drives by you too fast, like something out of a glossy magazine, and before you know it, it's gone." Kerala Dust that's Edmund Kenny on vocals/electronics, Harvey Grant on keys, Lawrence Howarth on guitar. Their live performances are a constant conversation around the sounds from the studio. Pieces are reinterpreted, looped, disassembled and reassembled. Since their first tour in 2017, Kerala Dust has played over 150 international shows in the US, Europe, Mexico, Russia, Turkey, Dom Republic and many more. Events like DGTL (Tel Aviv), Dockville (Hamburg), Lightning in a Bottle (California), Kater Blau (Berlin), Tropico (Mexico), Sonar (Barcelona) are just a few in a long list of festivals and nightclubs. And Kerala Dust have only been playing for a few years.
