Miranda Cuckson
Violinist and violist Miranda Cuckson delights listeners in the US and internationally with her versatile and expressive playing of a large range of music, from the newest creations to older pieces. She has been deeply and widely involved in contemporary music and is passionate about the creative role of the performer/interpreter in the artistic process and in communicating the music. She performs as soloist and chamber musician at concert halls and festivals, schools and universities, galleries and informal spaces.

Downbeat magazine recently stated “violinist Miranda Cuckson reaffirms her standing as one of the most sensitive and electric interpreters of new music.” Her recording of Luigi Nono’s “La lontananza nostalgica utopica futura” for violin and electronics with Christopher Burns (Urlicht AV) was named one of the best albums of 2012 by the New York Times. She recently premiered a violin concerto written for her by Georg Friedrich Haas at the Suntory Festival with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, with the Staatsorchester Stuttgart, and the Orchestra of Casa da Musica in Porto.

Chris Gross
is an active performer in the New York contemporary classical scene, having premiered works by Pierre Boulez, John Zorn as well as Milton Babbitt’s work for solo cello More Melismata. Following his performance of cello music by Charles Wuorinen, The Strad Magazine wrote: “The tone of Gross’s cello enveloped the crowd [as he] showed energy and intonational accuracy, even when racing around the fingerboard.” The New York Times wrote of his performance of Brian Ferneyhough’s Time and Motion Study II for cello and electronics, that "…for 20 minutes this skinny young cellist…seemed like a musical master of universe…." He is a founding member of the Talea Ensemble, whose recording of works by Fausto Romitelli received recognition as one of the Top 10 Classical Albums of 2012 by TimeOut NY, and has appeared as guest with various ensembles including I.C.E., Cygnus, Flux Quartet, and at venues including Weill Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Disney Hall, and Bargemusic. Also active as an educator, he is currently on faculty at Lehigh University, is on the Leadership Committee as a Teaching Artist with the New York Philharmonic, and is a certified Suzuki Instructor. His article “What is a Suzuki Teacher?” appeared in the American Suzuki Journal. He has also participated in numerous residencies at universities across the country, and given lectures on contemporary string performance at Harvard University and Brooklyn College. He holds degrees from Oberlin and Juilliard, and is currently a C.V. Starr Doctoral Fellow at Juilliard in New York.

Stephen Gosling
is a ubiquitous presence on the New York new music scene, and has also performed throughout the U.S., Europe, Latin America and Asia. His playing has been hailed as “brilliant,” “electric,” and “luminous and poised” (New York Times), possessing “utter clarity and conviction" (Washington Post) and “extraordinary virtuosity” (Houston Chronicle).

A native of Sheffield, England, Mr. Gosling received his BM, MM and DMA degrees from The Juilliard School where he was awarded the Mennin Prize for Outstanding Leadership and Excellence in Music, and the Sony Elevated Standards Fellowship.

Mr. Gosling was for three years pianist of the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, and appeared in several seasons of the Summergarden series at MOMA. He has also performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the Grant Park Festival in Chicago, the Bang on a Can Marathon, Bargemusic, the 2001 Great Day in New York festival, and the PAN festival in Seoul, Korea. He is a founding member of the American Modern Ensemble, as well as a member of Ensemble Sospeso and the New York New Music Ensemble. He has performed with Orpheus, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Speculum Musicae, DaCapo Chamber Players, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Continuum, the League of Composers/ISCM Chamber Players, and Da Camera of Houston. He has also participated in Off-Broadway productions and collaborated with a number of dance companies, including American Ballet Theater and Parsons Dance Project. Mr. Gosling has been heard on the NPR, WNYC and WQXR radio networks, and has recorded for New World Records, CRI, Mode, Innova, Rattle Records and American Modern Recordings (AMR).
