With "Take 2," Generation Radio present the follow-up to their acclaimed debut, remaining true to their musical DNA. The album blends classic AOR and West Coast rock with subtle Nashville influences, once again relying on strong melodies, sophisticated harmonies, and precise songwriting.

Produced by founding members Jay DeMarcus (RASCAL FLATTS) and Jason Scheff (former CHICAGO), the band features an all-star lineup: Steve Ferrone (TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS) joins on drums, replacing the formidable Deen Castronovo (who returned to JOURNEY as full-time member), while Tom Yankton (guitar, vocals) and Chris Rodriguez (guitar, vocals) round up the powerhouse ensemble.

Jay DeMarcus stated: “Jason and I were fortunate enough to write our first single, ‘Montana Sky’, with our buddy Chas Sanford. It was actually written for the Chicago “XXX” record so we’re really excited we had the chance to finally cut it!”

DeMarcus said: “It was so much fun getting to make another record! We’ve been working on this one for a while and we can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been up to. Once again, we have contributions from all band members. These guys are amazing and it’s a honor to make music with them, I believe this record is our best work yet.”

Jason Scheff added: “Here we go! Take Two, round two. We had such a great reception on our first record we've been chomping at the bit to get this one finished and released. I'm extremely proud to show that we have a band that is still at the top of our game”.

Adding depth to the album’s appeal, Generation Radio also offers reimagined versions of timeless classics that shine in their live sets: Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again”, Chicago’s “You’re The Inspiration”, Kenny Loggins’ “I’m Alright”, and a rock version of Rascal Flatts’ classic “These Days”.

Jay DeMarcus
was born in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Lee College where he was discovered and co-founded the contemporary Christian music group East to West and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1993. In 1999, Jay, along with his second cousin Gary LeVox, and guitarist, Joe Don Rooney, formed the country band, Rascal Flatts.

From 2000 to 2010, they recorded for Disney Music Group's Lyric Street Records. While on that label, they released seven albums, all of which have been certified platinum or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). After Lyric Street closed in 2010, they moved to Big Machine Records, for which they have released five albums. Their studio albums have accounted for more than 25 singles, of which 14 have reached No. 1 on Billboard Hot Country Songs and/or Country Airplay. Their longest-lasting No. 1 single, "Bless the Broken Road", spent five weeks in that position in 2005. In 2005–06, "What Hurts the Most" was No. 1 on both the Hot Country Songsand Adult Contemporary charts, and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.

DeMarcus has co-produced albums for several artists, including Chely Wright's 2002 album Never Love You Enough, Chicago's Chicago XXX, and James Otto's 2008 album Sunset Man. He also produced New to This Town, the first solo album released by Kix Brooks and Jason Scheff's solo album, Here I Am. Grammy award winning albums: Jason Crabb's Love Is Stronger and Reba McEntire's Sing It Now Songs of Hope & Faith.

In October of 2018, DeMarcus founded the label Red Street Records, an independent Christian music label.

Jason Scheff
originated from San Diego, CA. At 23 years old, Scheff joined the multi-platinum band Chicago in 1985 replacing Peter Cetera. Scheff’s lead vocals debuted on the 1986 single “25 or 6 to 4,” a remake of the band’s 1970 hit song. Scheff followed up with “Will You Still Love Me,” which hit #3 on the pop charts, and has sung Chicago’s live classic hits over four decades – 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s – including “If You Leave Me Now,” “You’re The Inspiration,” “I’ve Been Searching So Long,” “Hard For Me To Say I’m Sorry,” “What Kind Of Man Would I Be,” “Hard Habit To Break” and more.

Recently, he joined an all-star lineup including Todd Rundgren, Christopher Cross, Micky Dolenz and Joey Molland of Badfinger to perform The Beatles White Album for a limited tour in the fall of 2019. Scheff most recently released his second solo album, Here I Am, packed with guest artists including The Doors guitarist Robbie Krieger, Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson, KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer, vocalist Bill Champlin, and Rascal Flatts multi-instrumentalist Jay DeMarcus, who also co-produced the album.

Steve Ferrone
was the drummer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and a former member of the Average White Band. He has recorded and performed with numerous other high-profile acts, including Duran Duran, Stevie Nicks, Slash, Chaka Khan, Eric Clapton, Bee Gees, Johnny Cash and more.

Since appearing on Chaka Khan’s 1978 debut album, he played on most of her albums of the 80s. In 1985, Ferrone joined the Saturday Night Live house band, and contributed as session drummer for, and toured with Duran Duran. He also toured and recorded with Eric Clapton from 1986-1992, and played drums for the Alan Parsons rhythm section at Abbey Road Studios.

Ferrone met guitarist Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers when the two played a show with George Harrison at Royal Albert Hall. He began recording with Tom Petty for the Wildflowers album, with his first live Heartbreakers gig in February 1995. In 2003 Ferrone released a live solo album entitled It Up: Steve Ferrone and Friends Live at La Ve Lee. In 2010, Ferrone played on Slash’s first solo album, Slash and joined the Italian band Pooh.

Tom Yankton
From a working class family in rural Arkansas, Tom Yankton started playing music in a Pentecostal Church at just seven years old. He learned to jam out on multiple instruments with the local players of country, gospel, and bluegrass, while also dabbling in pop, rock and roll, and even hip hop. Covering everything from guitar, keyboards, bass, drums percussion, harmonica, pedalsteel, fiddle, programming, songwriting, and vocals. Yankton attended Lee University where he studied classical vocals, covering all genres.

As a musician, he has performed on Jimmy Kimmell Live, TheToday Show, The Grand Ole Opry, and The Academy Of Country Music Awards. He has played alongside Rascal Flatts, Christina Aguilera, RaeLynn, Collin Raye, Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame members, Chicago, and many others. For the last few years, Tom has been performing with his own band, Yankton. Recently, he has been featured on Spotify’s 'Country Rocks' play list with the band's music logging over half a million streams on the platform with even more new music on the way set to release later this year.

Chris Rodriguez
Originally from the Bronx in New York City, Chris Rodriguez moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Belmont University and pursue a career in music. An exceptional musician and vocalist, Chris can be seen and heard playing electric and acoustic guitar, banjo and mandolin, as well as singing lead and backup vocals both on stage and in the Nashville session scene. Chris has worked across the spectrum of musical genres from country, pop, rock, R&B and metal to black gospel and Christian.

In 1999, Word Records released Chris’s solo debut album, Beggar's Paradise, which still garners world-wide attention today. He has appeared as a session guitarist and vocalist on records by artists such as Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Kenny Loggins, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Wynonna Judd, Michael McDonald, Lionel Ritchie, Blake Shelton, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Steve Winwood, Peter Cetera, Jo Dee Messina, Rodney Crowell, Lee Ann Womack and Megadeth. Over the last two decades, Chris has hit the road to perform withthe likes of Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban, Peter Cetera, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Ronnie Dunn, LeAnn Rimes, Kenny Loggins, and Billy Currington. When he isn’t traveling the world, Chris can be spotted at various venues playing with Nashville’s foremost seasoned artists and musicians, The Nashville Alternators.
