Info for Tonight's News

Recorded in a single day at Chicago’s Wilco Loft with producer Tom Schick, Tonight’s News finds Ken Pomeroy reimagining a handpicked, eclectic collection of songs that shaped her artistry. Performed live with no overdubs and the band gathered in a circle, each track captures a raw, authentic moment preserving the spontaneity, warmth, and intimacy at the heart of every performance.

"Pomeroy believes the upcoming album is a large jump from her previous, particularly in terms of musicianship and artistic ability. Recorded in Chicago’s the Loft studio (created by alt-country pioneers Wilco), Pomeroy’s band tracked most of the album altogether, sitting in one big circle, to capture their organic, live sound properly.

“It’s kind of a world of improvement,” Pomeroy said. “I feel like it’s very genuine. And there are a lot of different songs on there that I’m a little scared of how people are going to react, but at the end of the day I guess I’m young!” (spokesman.com)

Ken Pomeroy
is a singer/songwriter with a Folk Americana sound. Transcending her age, Ken has a unique vocal quality that blends smoothly with her heartfelt lyrics. Ken began singing, writing songs, and playing the Baritone ukulele at age 9. She quickly learned to play the Concert and Soprano Ukulele, and at age 10 began playing guitar. Every year she is a regular at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival playing Lou’s Rocky Road Tavern stage. Fans can also catch Ken playing numerous venues around Oklahoma City and Norman on a regular basis. She has played the Grand Stage at the Riverwind Casino, and she is also a regular at the Oklahoma Rodeo Opry. In 2016, Ken received the Rising Star award from the Songwriters Association of Norman, and has attended the Rock & Roll Camp for Girls since its inception in 2015. Ken released her debut EP “Minutes to Hours” earlier this year; she is currently writing and recording new songs for her follow up CD that will be released in the summer of 2018. Ken’s musical influences include such local talent as Kyle Reid, Carter Sampson and John Calvin Abney. She is also influenced by the music of John Moreland and by classic artists like John Denver & James Taylor.
