Johannes Brahms in 1893. The collection is the last composition for solo piano by Brahms. Together with the six pieces from Op. 118, Op. 119 was premiered in London in January 1894.

The Four Pieces for Piano were published in 1892 and 1893 along with three other collections of smaller piano pieces: Seven Fantasias Op. 116, Three Intermezzos Op. 117, and Six Pieces for Piano Op. 118.

Born in Trieste, Italy, Lorenzo Cossi has been internationally acclaimed as one of the five finalists at the “Esther Honens” International Piano Competition in Calgary, Canada.

His new album was recorded at Saletta Acustica 'Eric James' by engineer Alessandro Simonetto, using an historical match of Brüel & Kjaer 4006.

Geboren 1982, diplomierte er am Konservatorium Triest in der Klasse von Giuliana Gulli. Er setzte seine Ausbildung bei Giuliana Gulli und Nino Gardi fort. Meisterkurse besuchte Lorenzo Cossi bei Joachim Achùcarro in Siena, bei Elisso Virsaladze, William Grant Naborè und Jerome Lowenthal.

Als Kammermusiker spielt Lorenzo Cossi mit namhaften Künstlern wie der Cellistin Marianna Sinagra zusammen. Lorenzo Cossi war Preisträger zahlreicher renommierter internationaler Wettbewerbe u.a. Rina Sala Gallo in Monza, L.Gante in Pordenone, Maria Canals in Barcelona. Er war Finalist beim Busonie Wettbewerb in Bozen und und Finalist beim E. Honens in Calgary, Canada, wo er mit berühmten Musikern wie dem Cellisten Johannes Moser zusammen spielte. Lorenzo Cossi hat seit 2018 eine Klavierklasse am Konservatorium Klagenfurt.
