Info zu Each Night Same Satellite
As frontman of the stoner band Wallace Vanborn, this singer-songwriter from Gent knows a thing or two about loud guitars, amps and how to put them together, but when he feels like playing his six-string a little more gently, he performs under his own name. Ian Clement made his debut as a solo artist this year with Drawing Daggers, a record full of bluesy, intimate songs with lyrics that seem like short stories set to music. His influences include Mark Lanegan, Dan Auerbach and Edward Sharpe. His record was critically acclaimed and an extensive European tour followed, including a handful dates as support for the Dutch band, De Staat.
Ian Clement
Ian Clement
known foremost as frontman of power trio Wallace Vanborn – is also making a serious mark as a soulful singer-songwriter. In his solo work he conjures up a unique, intimate world. A deep soothing voice makes for music that is warm, moving and occasionally somber. Fans of singer- songwriters like Mark Lanegan, Dan Auerbach and Edward Sharpe are immediately drawn to his intriguing way of telling a musical story.
After recording his first solo album Drawing Daggers with Peter Obbels, Clement had the opportunity to record a new selection of numbers under the supervision of René Tinner. The veteran producer, renowned for his work with Can, has worked with major figures such as Lou Reed and George Harrison and his less-is-more approach proved the ideal formula for engineering Ian's pending solo album See Me In Synchronicity. Everything (except the vocals) were cut in single live takes at the ICP Studio in Brussels, so as to capture the music as organically as possible.
