Rachel Sutton
captivates audiences with her emotive and uplifting performances, filled with theatrical skill, humour and heartfelt expression. Her extensive repertoire, including her own compositions, is both an exciting and moving experience for her audiences. Released on 33 Jazz Records, her debut album, A Million Conversations, displays Rachel’s talent for songwriting that’s both uplifting and achingly tender. Jazz Views hailed the album as “a revelation… the music is of the highest quality.”
Her theatrical training is at the core of every song, and her flair for entertainment and easy rapport with an audience has gained her a first class reputation.
Rachel was born and raised in the Kent countryside and grew up listening to the romantic ballads of Cole Porter and George Gershwin, the soulful sounds of Stevie Wonder and Billy Joel and the haunting beauty of Joni Mitchell, Janis Ian and Judy Collins.
A theatre student at Glamorgan University and The Welsh College of Music and Drama, she went on to play some of the lead roles in Shakespeare, touring the UK and Europe. Rachel’s vocal abilities landed her roles in award winning shows at the Edinburgh and New York Fringe, and this propelled her into the world of singing full time.
Rachel has performed sell out gigs at top London Jazz clubs as well as venues and festivals across the UK and abroad. Her role in Lansky: The Mob’s Money Man at The Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank and Cadogan Hall received wide acclaim, with London Jazz News calling Rachel a “stand out performer… a revelation”.
Rachel’s highly anticipated album, Realms, is scheduled for release in March 2026.
