Lo Triò brings together three talented musicians from the south of France: Bastien Ribot (violin), Rémi Bouyssière (double bass) and Emile Melenchon (guitar). They met on the road and quickly formed their string trio in 2012.

Their musical adventure has taken them to perform in various clubs and festivals in France (Jazz à Toulon, Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Jazz en Touraine, Mazagon Jazz, Jazz en Comminges, Jazz à Porquerolles, etc...) and Europe.

The trio stands out for its fusion of original compositions and great jazz and pop standards, in an acoustic and intimate atmosphere.

After a debut album in 2018, they now bring us ‘Pirenenca’ in collaboration with Vincent Peirani and Paloma Pradal.

This new album is a compendium of sunshine inspired by Mediterranean, South American and contemporary music. The subtle timbre of the string trio's instruments provided inspiration and imagination for the composers throughout the writing process.

Opening this new opus with ‘Filho’, Lo Triò first reveal a characteristic facet: the three musicians have classical music backgrounds. The intro, harmonised with the double bass bow, bears witness to this. It's only when the theme unfolds with the subtle arrival of a samba that we realise we're really in jazz. The sequence of solos only confirms this.

The nylon guitar will also be sublimated in a distinctly more Hispanic repertoire, with ‘Entre deux eaux’, ‘Suite diluvienne’ and ‘La Pirenenca’, pieces featuring two distinguished guests (Vincent Peirani and Paloma Pradal).

As for the jazz, it will be asserting itself in covers such as Boris Vian's ‘Je bois’ and Dizzy Gillespie's ‘Blues “N” Boogie’, or in clearly more modern compositions such as ‘Desrapatge’ and ‘Dernière danse’.

As for the softness of the three string instruments, it punctuates the explosions of energy with moments of calm in the cover of Chico Buarque's ‘O Que Sera’ (a nod to Claude Nougaro) and Rémi Bouyssière's composition ‘Brume Matinale’.
