Die erfolgreiche Hollywood Trilogie von Steven Soderbergh »Ocean's 11 / 12 / 13« präsentiert nun einen Spinoff mit dem Titel »Ocean's 8«.
Im Fokus des Geschehens steht die Schwester von Danny Ocean (Georg Clooney), die kurz nach Ihrer Entlassung aus dem Gefängnis eine Truppe von insgesamt acht Frauen zusammenstellt, die gemeinsam während der Met-Gala in New York einen spektakulären Raub veranstalten wollen.
Mit dabei sind Weltstars wie Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson und Awkwafina. Ein unterhaltsamer und Action geladener Film mit Starbesetzung, der auch musikalisch sehr an die »Ocean's« Filme erinnert.
Die Musik komponierte der britische Komponist Daniel Pemberton, der zweimal für einen Golden Globe nominiert wurde und bereits für seine Zusammenarbeit mit Ridley Scott beim Film »The Counselor« oder für die Musik zum Film »Steve Jobs« (Golden Globe Nominierung: Best Original Score) bekannt ist.
