Gli Speziali ensemble has been formed in 2009 and puts together the professional experiences of Silvia Tuja, transverse flute, Elisabetta Soresina, baroque cello, and Giuseppe Reggiori, harpsichord, who have decided, together with their solo and orchestra activity with modern instruments, to devote themselves to studying and performing the Baroque repertoire with original instruments, individually contributing to eminent Italian and international ensembles. Thanks to a detailed philological research work, Gli Speziali have proposed in these years original concert programs that juxtapose the most famous names of the 18th century with compositions by less famous authors, but not for this reason less significant or interesting. In 2004 they created the “Gli Speziali”‘s Baroque Festival which, after calling at different locations in Varese and its province, from the second edition has found its location in the beautiful Romanic church of Sant’Imerio. In this and other contexts its development has opened itself to collaborations with other vocal and instrumental solo artists. Guests of many musical seasons, in 2018 Gli Speziali have been the special guests of the theatrical production “I volti di Casanova”, in which together with musics of the 18th century repertoire they have performed contemporary compositions commissioned for their ensemble made of ancient instruments. All the ensemble’s programs offer valuable listening chances addressed not only to the lovers of ancient music, but also to anyone who feels the desire to know the alchemy that lies in the artistic expression of Baroque music.
