"Polar" entführt die Hörer in eine imaginäre, von Eis und Schnee bedeckte Welt, die Ólafs seit Jahren träumt. Die Musik kombiniert emotionale Klänge mit dem Gesang von Walen, wobei keine tatsächlichen Walrufe verwendet werden, sondern verschiedene Instrumente wie Cello und Pedal Steel Gitarre. Die begleitende Erzählung, die von der Bestsellerautorin Rebecca Roanhorse verfasst wurde, wird von der isländischen Schauspielerin Hera Hilmar gesprochen. Ólafs' visionäre Herangehensweise an die Musik und seine kreativen Konzepte machen "Polar" zu einem seiner ambitioniertesten Projekte.
