The Twilight Sad
The Twilight Sad
Hailing from Scotland, The Twilight Sad are a dynamic presence in the indie rock scene. Their debut album, "Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters" (Fat Cat, 2007), established their distinctive sonic identity, effortlessly merging post-punk and shoegaze with haunting melodies and emotionally charged lyrics. Their second album, "Forget the Night Ahead" (Fat Cat, 2009), received acclaim for its brooding textures and introspective themes, solidifying their mastery of emotive storytelling. The band's third album, "No One Can Ever Know" (Fat Cat, 2012), (anti)produced by Andrew Weatherall, showcased their experimental shift toward a more electronic and darkwave-infused sound, earning recognition for their evolving versatility. "Nobody Wants to Be Here, and Nobody Wants to Leave" (Fat Cat, 2014) marked a return to their signature style and received praise for its emotional depth.
Their latest album, IT WON/T BE LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME released via Rock Action Records saw critical acclaim and commercial success, marking a new high in the much-loved Scottish band's trajectory to date. A first Top 20 album for the band, it peaked at number 17 in the UK Official Albums Chart while coming in at number 1 in the UK Vinyl Chart. Press was just as exclamatory about the record with rave reviews coming in from the likes of The Guardian, NME, Q, The Independent I, Drowned in Sound, Clash, DIY, Loud and Quiet, and more. Recently, the band have toured extensively with The Cure in the UK, EU, and North America and are currently working on their sixth studio album.
