Info for EP - 002 - MM

After EP - 001 - MM, combining subtlety and colour with the band’s trademark rhythmic drive and irresistible groove power, they are back with a second opus in 2022. Taking on a more melancholic hue than in the first EP, reflecting an overview at a general context of our contemporary history, the music of this new opus carries nonetheless optimism and a message of hope, as the track « Prayer For Hope » implies. We find there as well the enthusiasm of the band and the longing for mixing cultures in « Sahara Spring » or « Instinct », as well as the need for moments of appeasement, serenity and renewal in « 'Til Daylight » and « Endless Journey ».

The group combine contemplative melodies with club-tinged electronics and ethereal grooves to take listeners on a journey into a dream-like state. Swaéli Mbappé’s (China Moses) bass connects with Mathieu Edward’s (De La Soul / Chassol) machine-like drumming, with keys wizard Nicholas Vella (Mayra Andrade), bringing adventurous harmonic language supported by airy melodies from Balthazar Naturel and Robin Antunes (sax ; violin/mandolin).

Their successful debut EP (2021) was championed by Jazz FM and WWFM, giving them a gateway into establishing a UK audience before a debut UK headline at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.
